Malwa Gramin Bank is a proud project of State Bank of Patiala. The Bank was established on 27^th Dec, 1986. At present the Bank is operating in 362 villages with 51 branches and is operating in 5 Districts of Punjab.

The Bank achieved tremendous growth in business during the year 2008-09. The deposits Increased by 36.81%. The advances of the Bank registered a growth of 23.92%. In absolute terms the deposits grew to the tune of Rs. 429.97 crore with a net increase of Rs. 115.69 crore over 2007-08 against budgeted figure of Rs. 425.00 crore. The advances of the Bank grew to the tune of Rs. 342.05 crore , a net increase of 66.01 crore over 2007-08. The Bank not only achieved but also surpassed the target of 30% additional flow of credit to Agriculture Sector as allotted by the Govt.of India.

 The Bank has posted a Net Profit of 875.99 lac during 2008-09 against 776.51 lac during 2007-08.
 

In order to provide excellent service to its customers, Malwa Gramin Bank imitated the process of computerizatin of its branches on 7th July 2005 and become a 100% computerized Bank on 13.10.2005 with full computerization of its all branches.Hon'ble Shri Yogesh Aggrawal ,Managing Director, State Bank of Patiala graced the occasion with his presence as the chief Guest of the function organised to celebrate the cent per cent computerization of Malwa Gramin Bank at its last computerized branch i.e. Badochi Kalan (District Fatehgarh Sahib) and declared Malwa Gramin Bank a "100% Fully Computerized Bank".
